Maine Supreme Court to hear appeal in civil case on April 11
The Maine Supreme Court will hear the case of David Bordetsky v. JAK Realty Trust, et al. at 1:30 p.m. April 11.
JAK Realty Trust et al., came to the Maine Supreme Court after Trust argued the decision of the Superior Court.
"The trust and the other defendants appeal, arguing that the Superior Court erred in requiring the defendants to prove that payments were made on the note; admitting in evidence a spreadsheet showing the calculation of the amount due; finding the amount due given the lack of admissible evidence on whether any payments were made; and finding that a conveyance of the property from the town of Benton to one of the defendants was invalid, the court states.
The original case revolved around a foreclosure judgment in favor of David Bordetsky.
