Hawaii Supreme Court to hear taxation appeal
The Hawaii Supreme Court will hear the case of CompUSA Stores, L.P. vs. State of Hawaii Department of Taxation at 8:45 a.m. on Dec. 19.
CompUSA argued that the Tax Appeal Court erred as a matter of law when it did not grant the taxpayer’s Motion for Summary Judgment because there were no genuine issues of material fact and the taxpayer was entitled to judgment as a matter of law.
The original case revolved around the Department of Taxation’s denial of CompUSA’s requested refund of several years of use tax payments.
