Louisiana Supreme Court to hear antitrust case
The Louisiana Supreme Court will hear arguments in St. Bernard Port, Harbor & Terminal District vs. Violet Dock Port Inc. LLC at 2 p.m. Oct. 16.
The case goes to the Louisiana Supreme Court after Violet Dock Port argued the decision of the 4th District Court of Appeal. The issues presented for review are whether the Port Authority is acting as an anticompetitive market participant, that the elimination of private competition is not a legitimate public use and whether the state's Constitution forbids taking to run a business enterprise or its facilities, court records state.
